Assisted with serious road traffic collision in early hours of this morning.

One of our doctors attended a incident where a car had left the road and hit a tree.  On arrival it was obvious the patient was in a critical condition with serious chest injures.  Our doctor needed to sedate the patient and assist his breathing.

During the transport to hospital further advanced care was needed and performed by our responder in form of surgical procedures outside the practise of most Paramedics.  On arrival at hospital our doctor further assisted the A&E team in the patients care.

This was a long a partially nasty job for all involved, the care this patient received for CSIbasics was provided voluntary  basis with no funding for time, training or equipment.
