The scheme works with the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) which covers Cheshire and West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) which covers Shropshire.

These are large regional organisations which have a specific memoranda of understanding and formal contracts and checks for people who respond for them.

Our operational areas are very much rural. We attend many major trauma and medical cases, but due to the sporadic number and layout of cases, a team set up is not practical. We are not a clinical training post and currently it is just experienced doctors that we can put on the road.

Our aim long-term is to get other appropriately trained health care professionals responding, to provide advanced care as Immediate Care Practitioners working within a multi-disciplinary team Рplease watch this space.

Still interested in joining?

We are always on the look out for volunteers who may want to help but do not have the expertise or the desire to respond to emergencies. Do you have experience in fund-raising or just a passion to help us out? If so, please get in touch.

If you are looking to join as responding Doctor, please check out our eligibility criteria here. Due to the fact we are not a training scheme, our criteria for responding Doctors is set quite high. This is reviewed regularly and will be updated if circumstances change.

If you are Paramedic and interested in joining, please check out our Paramedic page for more information.
